A Christmas Experience Every Child should have!
Unfortunately, severe poverty deprives many children in developing countries of this joy. Their parents are too poor to provide even one simple Christmas present.
Through Cross Catholic Outreach's A Box of Joy program, you can ensure these children are not deprived of Christmas blessings this year. By packing a Christmas gift box and sponsoring the cost of its shipment, you can help us deliver A Box of Joy to a child who would otherwise receive nothing.
This year, the 8th grade class has taken on this project as a Confirmation service project and would like your help. We ask that you go through your small toys, travel size toiletries, and other items listed below and consider donating them (or new items) to our project.
If your family would like to create your own Box of Joy as a family Christmas project, please contact Ms. Simmons and she will send home a box and information. Please have all items sent to school no later than November 19th.

In addition, as you know EVERY middle school student is required to complete 8 hours of community service each trimester in order to earn a passing Religion grade. Students who make a no-sew tie fleece blanket for this service project will be awarded two hours towards their eight service hours. This is not limited to one blanket either...a student could earn all eight hours by making four blankets!

Trunk-or-Treat
Trunk-or-Treat is this Friday at 7 P.M. in the back parking lot. Families that turned in reservations last week will receive a reservation ticket in the Wednesday folder today. (It is being sent home with the oldest child in the family.)
The St. Rita Harvest Homecoming is coming up fast and we need you. By now, you have probably been contacted by your class' room parent asking for help in your grade's booth. We really need your help in order for this to be a success. If you have already volunteered, a big THANK YOU!! We still need help in some booths. This festival is a great way to earn volunteer hours. This is a huge event for our school and I know we all want it to be a success. Please consider volunteering- even 1 hour can make a big difference!! You can contact your room parent or myself, at ebwheat1@twc.com or by phone/text at 502-592-6797.
Thanks so much,
Barbara Wheatley/ St. Rita PTO volunteer coordinator
Harvest Homecoming
The Harvest Homecoming is coming up soon and we want it to be the best one yet!
A few things to remember:
1. Be sure to sell the raffle chances that were sent home last Wednesday and get more from Mrs. Beeson when needed.
2. Don’t forget to send in your class specific themed basket items or $5 and your grade level requested item. They are due October 30th with the exception of the baked items which are due November 7th.
3. If anyone has gotten items donated for the auction, please turn them in to the office as soon as possible.
4. Contact your grade level room parent to set up a time to volunteer!
