Eco Warriors Reminder About Recycling

Our Eco Warriors would like to remind you that we are recycling batteries, printer cartridges, pens and highlighters. There are boxes in the school entrance to put these items in. Thank you.

PTA AGM 28.9.21

Don’t forget the PTA AGM is to be held on Tuesday 28th September. Everyone is invited.

Well done!

We are delighted that one of our pupils in Year 4 has been awarded a Selby Shining Stars Bronze award this year. He completed a litter pick of his whole village and has promoted recycling, which led to him being nominated for an award. He was invited to the presentation at Selby Abby and received a certificate and badge. We are really pleased that the difference he has made in his community has been acknowledged.

Harvest Festival 4.10.21

The Harvest Festival will take place in church on Monday 4th October at 9.30am. Donations of produce will be collected and will be given to Selby Food Bank.

Injuries.

From time to time, all children have injuries at school. We have qualified first-aiders on the staff and we will always ensure that first aid has been administered when it is needed and we have been alerted. We won’t usually inform you of this, but if we feel that the injury may be more serious or involves a head bump, we will always send a ‘bump note’ home with your child. If your child has had a minor injury at school and first aid has been applied, you can have confidence that the injury has been assessed and treated correctly.

Mrs Langan is leaving us.

We are sad to inform you that Mrs Langan will be leaving at half-term. She has been a real asset to our school and will be greatly missed. Governors are in the process of recruiting a replacement teacher for our Year 4 class.

Open Evening for New Families. 13.10.21

We are holding an open evening for new families on Wednesday 13th October, from 4.30pm – 6pm. There will be a chance to have a look around the Reception and Year 1 classrooms and have a play with some of our resources, as well as meeting the teachers. If you know a family that is looking for a school place next September please do encourage them to come along and see our school.

Lunchtime Activity Coach

We have a new activity coach who is starting at our school next week, helping children to be active and take part in games on Wednesday lunchtimes.

After School Clubs.

We do hope to organise after-school clubs this term, but as part of our Covid-19 risk assessment they won’t take place until after half term. We will let you know when final arrangements have been made for these to start.

Breaktime Snacks

Children are allowed to bring a snack in for break times but these must be either fruit, vegetable or cheese based snacks only.

Food Donations for Knottingley Food Bank

We have a box in the school entrance for any donations of food for Knottingley Food Bank, these need to be non perishable items. They would really like things like dried pasta, tinned items, jars of sauces, boxes of cereals, rice, long life milk, packet sauce mix, instant mash, packet puddings, instant jelly, cake mix etc. They also accept: cleaning products, washing up liquid, disinfectant (no bleach) washing powder, softener, air fresheners, toiletries, shower gel, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, sanitary products, new toys and books.

The box will be there all year round. Thank you for your donations.

Polite Notice.

POLITE NOTICE: We appreciate space for parking is very limited outside school, but please give consideration to our local residents at the start and end of the school day. We ask that cars are parked in a safe place and driveways are kept clear - emergency services may require access at any time.

Start and End of School.

May we also ask that, at drop-off and collection times, you use the slope to come into the bottom playground and the steps to leave (where possible). This should just help with the congestion and help to keep our children safe at this busy time of day. Many thanks for your support with these requests.

Calendar & Diary Dates

We regularly update our school calendar so you can keep up to date with things happening in school. Click the link below to access it at any time.
