New Albany High School

Bi-Weekly Update - November 10, 2022

Two-Hour Delay - December 5

New Albany High School will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule on Monday, December 5th, for the Ohio State Test for Government. The Government test is for Juniors and Seniors currently enrolled in an AP Government or Government, Politics, and Economics course.

Students taking the Government State Test

Students who are testing are expected to be at their assigned testing location with their iPad charged, no other electronics, and a pencil at approximately 7:45 am. Students who are testing will receive a detailed email that will include the specific location(s) two days prior to their test date. Please help communicate the importance of adequate sleep and nutrition, so students perform to the best of their ability.

Students NOT taking the Government State Test

Students who are not testing on Monday, December 5th, do not need to report to school until 9:45 AM. Our buses will run on their regular schedule as they would on a typical school day. If a student needs to take the bus to school in the morning, they will report to the High School cafeteria for a supervised study center until classes begin at 9:45 AM.

Remember and Reminisce With a Yearbook

Years from now, your child will be able to look back and share their memories from this school year with a copy of the New Albany High School yearbook. The yearbook will cover the stories and highlights that make this year special, so be sure to order one today!

You don’t want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind book!

Wondering how to pick up your copy of last year's book? The yearbook adviser, Ms. Guthmann, guthmann.1@napls.us, can help!

Social Media Scams

We have been made aware of a scam that some of our students have been victims of through SnapChat. A person - a name they know - is friend requesting them through SnapChat. The child who receives the friend request accepts the friend request and without their knowledge the requestor hacks the child’s account. A one time code is sent via text message to the owner of the account and the hacker asks for that code. Students, thinking it is a friend, gives the code to the hacker and then are locked out of their account. Some students are also being asked to give the hacker money - $100.00 via PayPal or Cash App - with the promise of giving the student $150.00 the next day.

Included, are two links for you in the hopes that you will have a conversation with your child(ren) about digital safety. The first one is SnapChat support and provides parents and students with important information. The second one details all of the SnapChat scams that our children as SnapChat users are vulnerable to. Please have a conversation with your child regarding digital safety.

Student School Fees Due

High School student fees for the 2022-2023 school year have been loaded to student Power School accounts. School fees will include a student agenda/handbook, Turnitin, and Technology fees. Your student may also have consumables fees and PSAT and AP test fees. All fees are due now and payment can be made online at PaySchoolsCentral or mail a check made payable to the New Albany High School to:

New Albany High School

Attn: Business Office

7600 Fodor Road

New Albany, Ohio, 43054

If paying online at PaySchoolsCentral, please be sure you are clicking on "Fees" and not school "Lunches". The PaySchoolsCentral app defaults to lunches so you will need to choose fees so that when you pay, you aren't adding money to the lunch account.
