The Counterculture of the 1960's refers to the anti-establishment that developed first in the US and the UK and spread through out most of the western regions between the early 1060's and 1970's, As the 1960's proggressed the tensions got worse and it gained momentum as the African-american civil rights movement continued to grow and become revolutionary with the expansion of the US governments extensive military intervention in vietnam. Several factors distinguished the counterculture of the 1960's from the anti-authoritarian movements of previous areas, Like the baby boom of war world 2 generated an unprecedented number of potentially disaffected young people as prospective participants in a rethinking of the direction of American
