Dear Hawk Families,
A big shout out to Ms. Boyer for her wonderful music performances with the elementary grades!
Thank you to all of our students and families who shared their appreciation with staff this week. Your notes, treats and kind words were very much appreciated! We are so grateful for the support of the BECS community!

Ameritowne Charity Fundraiser
The 5th-grade students sold various food items after school last week for the charity that they selected through Ameritown. They raised $735.53 and were able to bring their donation to Ameritown this week. Great job BECS!
Current 5th Grade heading on to 6th Grade
We are looking forward to supporting you and your child with the transition to 6th grade! We recognize that while students remain in the same building, they encounter several major changes when transitioning to middle school such as having six teachers per day, having a locker, managing their organization, and engaging with numerous different groups of peers along with all of their physical and emotional changes. Below at the LINK are some answers to a few of the questions you may have regarding your student going into 6th grade. LINK
Spring Clubs:
The last day of Spring Clubs for 2022 will be Thursday, May 12th. After Thursday, May 12th, clubs will no longer be meeting. Thank you to all of the students who participated in our Spring Clubs, and thank you to parents who were willing to have their students participate. We will start clubs up again in the fall. Thank you!
Wow! Check out what is happening in 3rd grade…
Ms. Casasanta’s advanced readers engaged in a novel study of The BFG (big friendly giant) over the course of the second semester. This past week, they got to present their end-of-unit projects. Some of them included “dream jars”, “snozzcumber” snacks, and 20 questions true/false kahoots!
Students worked so hard on these projects and were very excited to show off their hard work with the rest of the class!
Lost and Found
We are overflowing with lost items. Please ask your student to check for any items they may be missing.
Modified Dress Days
Have you ever wondered where the money goes on $1 Modified Dress days? These are great opportunities for student groups/clubs to do fundraisers for their activities, to supply for the BECS Bucks Store, Positive Student Behavior Incentives, and so much more. Thank you for your support!
Pastries with the Principals Update
This was our last meeting of the year and we will be back next year starting August 26th. We will meet monthly on the last Friday of each month (except for December and May). Please be on the look out for this opportunity next year and we hope to see you!
PTO Updates:
2022/2023 BECS PTO Event Committees
We can't host school-wide events with just a handful of us. We need people willing to contribute their ideas and skills. PTO is planning 3 large events next school year and is in search of volunteers. There are 3 heavy-hitting events; Fall Festival, Parent Gala, and Color Run which will each have their own committee. Each committee will decide each person's role, responsibilities, and when to meet. Please email Elizabeth Strobel for more information.
Technology:
All students are required to fill out an end-of-year device assessment. See the schedule below.
Please use the following links to help your child fill out the assessment form. One form per student, please.
Devices, cases and cords will be handed in at the end of the year. Please make sure all devices have their cases attached to the device. If devices, cases, or cords are missing or damages are present your student will incur a fee for the replacement/repair.

Update Your Information
Every quarter it is good to take a mental check if anything has changed in your contact information. Work, Cell, Home Address, In Case of Emergency Contact List, etc. A great way to check is to log in to your Infinite Campus parent portal. If you have any issues with logging in or need assistance please don't hesitate to call the main office. We would be happy to assist.

Yearbook
Online ordering for yearbooks will shut down next week. We have only a few extra copies so if you have not purchased one yet please realize you may not get one at this point.
Students will be receiving their yearbooks on May 20th to take home.
We encourage families to write their students’ names in their yearbook
Students can bring yearbooks the following week for signatures and must abide by classroom norms when signing is appropriate.
If you ordered a yearbook but did not receive it, please contact Josten’s directly.
