Message From Mr. A,

A friendly reminder that school will be closed on Monday, October 9th for Fair Day. Tickets will be sent home with students on Friday. We hope you enjoy your extended weekend.

Next Wednesday, October 11th is picture day. Please make sure your child is in uniform and on time to ensure they have their picture taken.

For the next 6 weeks, there is an attendance incentive for all students. Those students who have perfect attendance during this time period will get to jump in a bounce house during their recess period at the end of the 6 weeks. Also, there will be a drawing for these students for prizes (one for k-2 and one for 3-5). There will even be a gift basket for one lucky parent!

We want to congratulate Mrs. Yzquierdo, 3rd grade Reading & Writing teacher and Mrs. Gray, Teacher Assistant on their recent recognition as August Teacher & Support Staff of the Month. Thank you ladies for all your hard work and dedication. Life School Mountain Creek is blessed to have such amazing staff on campus.

October is Volunteer Month. Life School encourages not only it's staff members, but students and their families as well, to volunteer their time/effort in the local community. All of LSMC Staff have made a commitment to volunteer this month and will be tweeting their experiences and pictures. Please share your family experiences with us by tweeting us @Life_Eagles.

Wednesday, October 25th, is an early release day for all students. Dismissal will begin at 12:00 and all students should be picked up by 12:45. Parent/Teacher Conferences will begin after 1:00PM and must be pre-scheduled. If you would like to schedule a time to meet with your child's teacher, please contact them as soon as possible.

Counselor's Corner

National Hispanic Heritage Month, began Sept. 15 and celebrates U.S. Latinos, their culture and their history. Started in 1968 by Congress as Hispanic Heritage Week. The week was expanded to a month in 1988. The celebration begins in the middle rather than the start of September because it coincides with national independence days in several Latin American countries: Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica celebrate theirs on Sept. 15, followed by Mexico on Sept. 16, Chile on Sept. 18 and Belize on Sept 21.

Please contact me, Mrs. McKenzie, your school counselor by Wednesday, October 4th to sign up to volunteer and/or donate materials as our Eagle Family works to bring the celebration to life for our students.
