A Look into the Bully Zone

Bullying is an abusive social interaction between acquaintances or peers. This can include aggression, emotional or physical harassment, and violence.

Bullying has been a major problem for students everywhere. Regardless of age, gender, financial level, and intellect.

Does bringing awareness of bullying perpetuate bullying or impact behavior positively?

What motivates people to make changes in their life?

Although this question cannot be answered in just one view, they all something in common- an influence in personal life. This can be be represented in many things, varying from different people's aspirations and goals in life.

What is truly important to people is the desire to learn - which holds such a future for many of young students today.

For a majority of people, education would be an important factor to motivation. Education, surprisingly sparks influence in many people. It helps with problem solving, judgement, confidence, and self-improvement in subjects of needed areas. This act of healthy life style promotes positivity and perseverance in one's life. But to start this desire to learn and achieve knowledge, one must begin with a positive mind to fully make changes in their life.

Does bringing awareness of bullying perpetuate it or impact behavior positively?

In 2006, A bullying & health complaint experiment was held by JAMA Pediatrics.

Experiment Motives:

Their priority was to see the results of a bullying intervention program held at 47 Netherlands schools, 3,800 students ranging from ages 9-12. The experimented tested two groups, one school that held a anti-bullying program, and one school that did not (control group).

Experiment Info:

The experiment consisted of asking students several questions related to bullying behavior, depression, psychomatic, or stress induced issues, peer relationships, and delinquent behavior. These key points were asked to student by a bullying questionnaire, held 3 times. The 3 points were directed to see the baseline measurements, 1st year effect, and 2nd year affect of the questionnaire.

Results shows that the students that were involved in the anti-bullying intervention bullying decreased by 25% compared to the control group students.

After 2 years of measuring data, results showed that the control group students, (without the anti-bullying program).

In conclusion, the study shows that holding an annual bullying program to students, will reduce bullying behavior. This can also be represented by consistent cousin doing in the school.
