Integration of Faith
Spring 2016 Online
I am looking forward to working with you as we dive into what it means to live out our faith in our classrooms. I have been an educator in the public school system for nearly 17 years. My earliest teaching assignments included middle school science, then I moved to a high school to teach Biology. As of now I am in my 5th year as an Assistant Principal at Placer High School, where I enjoy guiding students through the rocky terrain of high school years and helping teachers navigate their instructional practices to become teachers who excel in delivering instruction and reaching the whole student.
I anticipate this course will challenge you spiritually and academically, where you are stirred with applicable ways to integrate your new learning into your classroom. I hope to bring in current areas of struggle that affect you as an educator, that we can all share and learn from one another how to best handle those situations and still demonstrate the Gospel to our students.
Please begin by completing the Jessup Online Student Orientation. Next, take some time to read through the syllabus in its entirety and share about what stage of the teaching program you are at in the introductions Forum. Please share current or upcoming teaching assignment or student teaching placement, grade level or subject taught and something that you hope to gain from EDU571. I look forward to working with you and supporting you through this journey. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions you might have.
