Kindergarten
June
End of Year Thoughts
As the year comes to an end, we would like to take a minute to celebrate the academic growth that your child has achieved this year! We are so proud of him/her! It is amazing to see the journey from letter recognition to independent reading in just one year! Hats off to you for all of the time and effort that you have dedicated to ensure your child’s success!
In the last days of our school year, we are finishing up our animal unit in Science and will be learning about drug awareness to conclude Social Studies.
We will also take some time to reflect upon our year together and highlight your child’s favorite memories of Kindergarten. We hope you enjoyed the journey through Kindergarten and again we appreciate your partnership in your child’s education! Thanks again for all your time and support and have a wonderful summer!
Reminders
Please return all library books and little reading group books to school as soon as possible.
Summer Tips
Because your child has made such remarkable progress this year, we do not want him/her to lose any of these skills over the summer. Therefore, we encourage you to continue working with your child at home. Please continue to read to your child and have your child read to you. We also encourage you to provide opportunities for your child to write frequently by keeping a journal, writing notes or postcards to family members, or simply writing the grocery list each week.
