Dear Grayhawk Families,

There has been much discussion recently regarding boundary changes for our middle school options. I know this is a hot topic of discussion in our surrounding communities, especially for our older kiddos leaving Grayhawk soon. The district spent last year with a committee made up of parents, support staff, teachers, administrators and community members discussing changes to our current boundaries. The Boundaries Committee proposed to move our feeder school to Explorer as it is the closest middle school for our Grayhawk families. The final vote has been moved from September to October to give communities the opportunity to offer feedback. You may send an email to Dr. Welsh and our PVUSD Governing Board for their review at: governingboard@pvschools.net.

You now have an opportunity to check out books from our Grayhawk library. If you would like a book from our school library, please place the book on "HOLD" through Follett Destiny. You may pick it up the following day between 12:45 pm and 3:45 pm. Simply go to the outside library door and ring the doorbell. Ms. Janine will greet you with your book. Each student can check out up to two books at one time. Ms. Janine is asking you to please return any books from last year before you receive your new selections. A library cart will be placed outside the door for you to leave your books. The books will be sanitized before they are recirculated. For information on how to go about checking out your books just click on the "Library Book Checkout Instructional Video" below! If you have any questions, please email our school librarian, Ms. Janine Marsh at jamarsh@pvschools.net.

On a personal note, as much as I am missing our kids in the building, I have gotten the opportunity to go into virtual classrooms and see their faces. I am so impressed with our teachers and students and all the hard work everybody is putting into distance learning.

I hope to see all of you in person very soon!

Michelle Pavlik, Principal
