Zesto All Day

Monday, May 1st, 11am

212 West 1st Avenue

Mitchell, SD

Gertie Belle Rogers PTA will be sponsoring a Zesto Day on Monday, May 1st.

Zesto is so kind to donate a portion of the days total sales from this day to our school - dine in or carry out. What a great reason not to cook supper that night or to come and just get an ice cream treat and be able to help support our school.

Keep Saving Those Saver Cards

Thank you very much for reaching out to your family and friends with the Saver cards from County Fair. We collected a total of 3,536 saver cards. County Fair donates .55 cents per card to our school. Thank you County Fair for your donation of $1944.80. A big shout out thank you to all of the classrooms that helped attach loose stamps and helped with bundling the cards up. Also, a special "Thank You" goes out to Caitlyn Way and some of her students who helped count them as well.

Student Council Receives Plaque

Mr. Gubbrud and Mrs. Wilson were honored to represent the GBR student council at the VFW’s Loyalty Day celebration at the end of April. They were presented a plaque from the VFW for the support given to our vets during our penny war fundraiser back in November.

A huge shout out to Justin and Megan Luther who once again have blessed our learners who did not get anything from the book fair. Those students were able to come down and pick out an item of their choice and the Luther's paid it forward for these students.

What wonderful families we have at GBR.

Thank you so much!

Thank You to First United Methodist Church

A BIG shoutout to the Downtown First United Methodist Church and their Noisy Bucket loose change offering. One Sunday per month the church takes up a special offering which children contribute loose change to the bucket. Members say it is touching to watch as only children put the money in and the more change there is, the "louder" and more impressive it is to the children as well as the adults. The adults also save their change and give it to the children as they walk up front to put it in the bucket.

Gertie Belle Rogers Lunch Program was chosen for the month of March to donate the Noisy Bucket loose change to. We received a check in the amount of $211.48.

Thank you First United Methodist Church for making a difference in our children's lives.

to pick these up. This includes all prescription meds, inhalers, epi-pens, and all over the counter

Mr. Gubbrud will be the "ice cream" and representative students from each class will get to add their topping of choice to him, anything from sprinkles to marshmallows to caramel syrup!
