The Week Ahead
We will be moving on to our next unit in math, in which we will study algebra. We will begin by learning that letters can be used to represent numbers, and we will also practice simplifying algebraic expressions.
Writing
In writing, we will finish the historical fiction stories that we began last week. We will move through the revising, editing, and publishing process more quickly than we did for our previous stories.
Reading
Moving forward with our novel study, we will make links with our social studies unit, and also do some more in-depth character analysis. Groups will continue to read their novels together, and we will make new personal goals for daily reading.
Social Studies
We will learn about the Boston Massacre this week. Students will have the opportunity to respond to this, in character, and express their feelings. We will explore the significance of the event, and how this affected the relationship between the soldiers and the colonists.
