Gearing Up for Testing
Be Prepared
Encourage your scholar to review material but avoid cramming which can be ineffective. Ensure your scholar gets ample amounts of sleep the day before the test and on test day have your scholar visualize their success.
Give your child a chance to practice.
Do you have access to internet? Inquire about your child’s Study Island login for at home practice. Try practicing test questions or studying unfamiliar vocabulary words. Keep each session short and manageable to boost your child’s confidence.
Remain Positive
Try writing an encouraging note to your scholar and give it to them the morning or the test. Remind them of their abilities to grow their minds and skill sets. We have awesome teachers who are eager to help your scholars achieve high academic success.

Time Change!
Greetings Parents!
Effective Monday, September 7, 2019 we will change the bell schedule to make room for three lunch periods instead of two. 6th grade will go to lunch beginning at 10:40 am. 7th grade at 11:10 and 8th grade at 11:45. The new change will ensure scholar safety and cafeteria efficacy. Due to the change 6th grade will be allowed to have a 5 minute snack time during extended learning time, also known as ELT. Should you have questions, or concerns, please contact a member of the leadership team.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage
Hispanic Heritage Month runs September 15 to October 15. Uplift Hampton will sponsor a variety of activities to celebrate Hispanic Heritage. Teachers will be sharing literature written by Hispanic authors. Displays will feature Hispanics that have contributed greatly to society and we will also recognize Hispanic staff members that serve as role models for our scholars daily. During the year we will continue to focus on other heritages. This is an opportunity for parents to have a discussion about your family’s heritage with your child(ren).
