Principal's Message

Dear Terra Linda Families,

I need to postpone the Principal Chat scheduled for this afternoon. I will communicate with you a new date when I'm able to do so. If you have specific questions for me, you are more than welcome to email me at christina_batsell@beaverton.k12.or.us I apologize for having to make this last-minute change.

No Principal Chat today.

You can also visit the BSD Return to School webpage for additional news and updates. The FAQ will be updated ongoing with questions presented by the community. The Communications and Community Involvement Department are doing their best to answer questions as quickly and as best as they can during these ever-evolving times.

Students are invited to join our next Reading Challenge on Monday, July 20 at 3:30 pm on Zoom and to come dressed as their favorite Scooby Doo character! Summer Reading Challenge

Each week through the week of August 3, students are invited to engage in a different Summer Reading Challenge. We kick off each week's challenge with a Zoom session on Monday at 3:30. Mrs. Batsell and Mrs. Chamberlain, principals at Terra Linda and Cedar Mill, are hosting each session. Students from both schools are participating.

Here is a link to the video of our second session on Monday, July 13: https://youtu.be/S2nYhd8zl7g

Students were invited to watch a movie short then use reading strategies to identify character traits and/or how traits change during the movie. This is the same type of thinking we do when we read! We encouraged students to write down character traits and post their notes to this padlet: https://padlet.com/amy_chamberlain1/bxmlvfl30twc3b9

We hope students can join us next Monday, July 20 at 3:30 pm as we explore strategies for reading mysteries!

Click the images or the button below to view an overview of sessions. Each session will be recorded and later posted to SeeSaw for those who are unable to join. If you do not want your child's image recorded and posted, feel free to sign in without your camera turned on.

Hope your children can join and keep up your summer reading!
