Social Media Challenges- Talking Points for students
Dear Parents,
Please help us keep our students safe and out of trouble. Below are some talking points to use with your child about recent Social Media Challenges. We want to make sure the AMMS
students do not take part in these criminal acts.
Here are some talking points:
- Please take pride in yourself and your school
- Please do not fall prey to social media challenges that will then risk your ability to attend our school with your peers, risk suspension and expulsion, risk college/career goals, subject yourself to criminal prosecution and record etc.
- Fulton County Schools will not tolerate any instances of school vandalism, destruction/theft of school property, physical or sexual assault, or any other behaviors that jeopardize the safety and security of our students and staff
- We will apply the severe consequences available such as filing criminal/felony charges, long term suspension or permanent expulsion from school.
- Please serve as a positive role model by encouraging your peers and others as a student body to create a positive and safe school environment by holding up what we value at Autrey Mill MS: Our PBIS Goals of Respect and Responsibility.
Sincerely,
J.E. Trey Martin
Principal

Meet Jennifer Lee, Our new 6th grade ELA teacher.
| Welcome them to the AMMS family! | Meet Sateria Wattley, Our interim cafeteria manager.

Meet Jennifer Lee, Our new 6th grade ELA teacher.
- This is my fourth year teaching full time, but I've been working as a tutor, teacher's aide, substitute teacher, and after school teacher.
- Before I started working here, I taught 6th grade ELA in Los Angeles.
- One fun fact about me is that I went to five different elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. I lived in three different countries and more than 10 different cities, before coming to Georgia to settle down and start a family.

Community News:
Principal Challenge to Support the Dr. Tyler Wallace Foundation
One of our feeder schools, Barnwell Elementary, has asked the greater community to join together to support the Dr. Tyler Wallace Foundation. Last year, Charisse Gilbert, Barnwellโs 2021 Teacher of the Year, lost her younger brother, Dr. Tyler Wallace, who had just graduated from medical school. Tyler's story was featured on the news last year (www.wsbtv.com/news/dr.tyler.wallace), and currently the defendant (accused of drunk driving) is not behind bars and the family is still seeking justice.
Mrs. Gilbertโs family created The Dr. Tyler Wallace Foundation in his honor that awards yearly scholarships for UGA & Augusta Medical College students whom have exhibited altruism, leadership, compassion and other conscientious characteristics during their educational tenure. Through this Foundation, Tylerโs smile and love will continue to make an impact on the lives of other students and their families.
Barnwellโs staff raised nearly $1500 this week to support the Dr. Tyler Wallace Foundation. Letโs join together and see if our greater community can meet or exceed this amount. Please consider making a donation to support Mrs. Gilbert and the Dr. Tyler Wallace Foundation.
