Principal Message
I CANNOT believe the start of school is finally upon us! Fr. Paul, all of our teachers and staff, and I are excited to begin this school year with our students! I, along with some of our new faces in the staff are excited to meet everyone. We are welcoming some new teachers as well as some that are changing roles. Mrs. Cassie Wright will be our new 5th-grade teacher and Ms. Halle Seymour will be our new Music teacher. Mrs. Cindy Weeks will be transitioning roles from Art to 3rd grade! We are very excited to welcome them to the St. Mary School family and to new roles.
One of my favorite things to do is to greet our students and families at the entrance each morning and I am also a big fan of high-fives. However, this year with the pandemic I have to learn some new socially distanced greetings. Below I have attached a graphic of some fun, socially distanced greetings for each morning. I am also looking forward to learning some new, fun socially distanced greetings too!
I look forward to spending the holiday weekend with some quality family time and I hope everyone has a restful and relaxing weekend with family!
Thank you,
George Mitchell

Preschool Update
First day 3's - Tuesday, Sept. 15th
AM Preschool start time will be 8:15 instead of 8:30. This is an effort to ensure we have ample time between preschool groups to sanitize the classroom.
AM Schedule - 8:15-11:15
PM Schedule - 12:30-3:30
Face Coverings - Preschool students will be required to have a face covering (mask) at school. However, they are not mandated or required to wear them throughout the day. Our preschool staff will work with our students to understand the purpose and procedure of wearing face coverings and will have the discretion to allow preschool students to not wear face coverings throughout the day. It will be highly encouraged that they wear them while moving through common areas of the school, but with the understanding of student-by-student needs with the face coverings for our preschool students. If there are any questions regarding face coverings please reach out to Mr. Mitchell at gmitchell@stmaryvermilion.org.
Lunch Update
