Front Office News
Parents/guardians picking up students at dismissal, we ask that you remain in your vehicles in order to facilitate a safe, smooth, and quick dismissal.
As a reminder, backpacks are to remain in the student's locker. As per the school supply list, a drawstring or other small bag is recommended to carry a student's Chromebook.
If you need to pick up your child before dismissal you must inform the main office prior to your arrival. You may do so by sending in a note with your child, calling the main office, or emailing both Mrs. DiStasi at email@example.com and Mrs. Diver at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Items forgotten from home
We will once again be using the grade level bins outside the main entrance for drop off of items forgotten at home. Please label anything you are dropping off with the student's first and last name, as well as his/her grade. Post-its and pens are provided for your use. Please do not ring the bell. The bins are checked periodically throughout the day and items are distributed to students during their lunch. For security reasons, a staff member cannot come to the door on request to retrieve items for your child.
Before the main office can grant admittance to the building, all visitors must:
- Notify the main office prior to arrival.
- Show ID before entering.

Our doors officially open to all students at 7:30am, and our school day begins at 7:40am.
You can see in the map below that we will be utilizing multiple entrances; each grade level has designated entrances for car riders and bus riders. There is signage at each entrance, and staff will be posted each morning to direct students to the appropriate entrance.
We encourage parents who are dropping off their children to do so between 7:00am-7:30am. From 7:00am-7:30am, students will enter through Door #5, which is located at the back of the parking lot (see the green box below). These students will be supervised in the new gym, where they will be seated in desks that are socially distanced. Starting at 7:30am, car riders will utilize entrances specific to their grades. Also at 7:30am, any students in new gym will be invited to proceed to their homerooms. It is our hope that spacing out the arrival of car riders and bus riders will allow for a smooth flow of of traffic into the building. At 7:30am, students riding buses will then enter the building utilizing the entrances specific to their grade.
There will be hand sanitizer stations at each entrance; and students will be required to use hand sanitizer prior to entering the building.
All bus riders will be dismissed from the building first, as the elementary dismissals are dependent upon our buses running on time.
If you will be picking up your child at dismissal, we ask that when entering the parking lot, you proceed down the center of the lot if you are picking up a sixth grader and to the left of the lot if you are picking up a 7th or 8th grader. (If you happen to be picking up students in 6th and 7th or 8th, please decide as a family where the driver will go and communicate this to your children.) Please see the dismissal map below and follow the arrows that correspond to your child's grade level. Please note: This is different from the Arrivals map above.
Parents picking up 6th graders will use the same traffic pattern as Arrivals.
Parents picking up 7th and 8th graders will drive around the back of the building and come to the access road by the cafeteria to wait. Once buses are dismissed, we will invite the 7th and 8th grade cars to pull along the curb in front of the building to pick up your children.
Please be patient as you wait for your child to exit the building and locate your car. We want to make sure all students exit safely.
Lunch options will be provided and served grab-and-go. A la carte items will not be available at this time. There will not be any sale of individual water or milk. Students will be sitting at desks in the cafeteria and may remove their mask once they have their lunch and seated at a desk. Once they are finished eating, masks should be put back on.
HOW TO REPORT A STUDENT ABSENCE DURING A PANDEMIC
- Your child's name
- State the reason for the absence with specific symptoms. NOTE: Students with symptoms consistent with Covid-19 will be excluded from school per the NJDOH guidelines.

First PTO Meeting
The first PTO meeting will take place, Tuesday, 9/21 at 6:30pm in the STEAM Center. All those in attendance must wear a mask.
