Important High School Rehearsal Changes

All of our evening rehearsals for the rest of the season (9/17, 9/24, 10/1, and 10/7) will be held at the Andrews University flag football field. A map is included below and will be sent home with students tomorrow. This is due to our current stadium re-build and the fact that our current practice field has no lighting.

Also due to the daily class schedule of one morning band and one afternoon band, the students only meet together once during the week at the evening rehearsal. Instead of adding an extra night of rehearsal to your busy schedules, I have decided to extend the current evening rehearsal 30 minutes. Thus, all practices will begin at 6:30pm and end at 9:00pm. The extra 1/2 hour will help us get a little more rehearsal as one ensemble. I realize that this is different than the original schedule but I am certain that the extra time will be a benefit our students and the band program.

So, all future evening rehearsals beginning this Tuesday, 9/17 will be at Andrews University and will run from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.

Instrument Supplies

All students should have/acquire a set of supplies to keep their instrument in tip top shape.

Flutes - bandana or soft cloth, cleaning rod

Oboe/Bassoon/Clarinet/Saxophone - 3 good reeds, reed case, swab

Trumpet/Euphonium/Tuba - valve oil, soft cloth to wipe residue

French Horn - rotor oil, soft cloth to wipe residue

Trombone - slide oil/cream, small spray bottle with water, soft cloth to wipe residue

Percussion - personal set of drum sticks and mallets, stick bag

All of these items can be purchased or ordered from your director. A clean instrument is a happy instrument!

Nice Job HS Band at your Football Game performance last Friday!
