Google Apps in the Classroom- GoTahoma
Dear Parents,
As you may know, the district started providing GoTahoma email and apps for education accounts to all students in grades 6 through 12 several years ago. We now roll out GoTahoma in 5th grade. In addition, 3rd and 4th grade teachers can request to use these tools with their students. We're excited to start using the apps with our students in the next couple of weeks. We will be using the Google tools mainly for work in writing and math.
As part of our planning to use these tools with our students, we will be partnering closely with our instructional technology coach to ensure that students learn the important digital citizenship expectations and responsibilities that come with the use of these tools. The GoTahoma Information for Elementary Parents may help you understand the GoTahoma Apps and what they will provide students in our classroom.
If you would like to find out more information about the GoTahoma Apps and their capabilities in a K-12 education environment, please visit http://www.google.com/a/help/intl/en/edu/k12.html Finally, if you have any questions about how we will be using the tools in our classroom, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Younce

We have two new incentives to help promote regular attendance. Be Here Bucks will be awarded each week for perfect attendance the previous week. This includes arriving on time and staying the whole day. There will be a school-wide drawing each week with a small prize awarded to each student whose name is drawn.
The second incentive will be awarded at the end of each grading period for perfect attendance through the whole trimester. Students will be given a medal for this honor at an assembly.
