A Message from Mrs. Caudill
There is something about the first warm days after our cold winter that add a bit of spring to my step. I loved being able to go home and enjoy the outside for a while with my son. I know our students loved their taste of the warmer days to come too. I heard all about riding bikes, going on hikes or just playing outside in the backyard.
However, we know this weather is not going to last and by Monday, winter will remind us that it is here a bit longer. Please make sure you are sending your child dressed appropriately for recess that day - one day it might be shorts and the next could be hats, gloves and boots. Gotta love Michigan!
Stay Safe,
Devon Caudill

Student Teams Update
Thanks to every student who took the time to fill out the Team Interest Survey. It was emailed to all 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders a couple weeks ago. Sunday, March 14th is the last day to complete the survey.
Starting next week, our student team mentors will reach out to students who have shown an interest to make some plans for the rest of this school year.
A Few Reminders
A team application is not needed this year, the survey is all we need. (Survey due March 14th - Here’s the link: Student Team Interest Form)
Students will have to be willing to meet after school, at recess, and in Zoom.
You will only be able to serve on one team, but it is ok to have interest in more than one. (When a team gets too full you may get selected for one of your other choices. FYI - Lighthouse Team was filled in the fall.)
If you have questions or need help, please contact Ms. LaManna: lamannael@northvilleschools.org
Have an amazing day Bobcats!

March Focus: Trustworthy! Habit 6: Synergize!
Every month Amerman Focuses on a new theme and Leader in Me Habit of the Month. The focus for the month of March is Trustworthy and our Habit of the Month is Habit 6: Synergize!
This month’s Habit: Habit #6 - Synergize
What this means: Working together is better. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
“I get along well with other people and work well in groups.”
“I value the strengths of others and allow myself to learn from them.”
“I know that working together as a team we can get more done and come up with better solutions than we could alone.”
“I seek out other people’s ideas to solve problems.”
How can I do this in my life?
With your children, choose a problem you may have (like curfew or completing tasks). Use the Synergy Action Plan to summarize your child's solution and your solution: (1) define the problem, (2) share your views, (3) think of solutions, (4) choose the best solution together. See if you can reach a better solution (The High Way) than either of you could come up with alone.
Great Books for Habit #6- Synergize
Saturdays and Teacakes by Lester Laminack
Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathman
Swimmy by Leo Lionni
Ox-Cart Man by Donald Hall
