  • FUNDRAISER PRODUCTS: The fundraiser products will be delivered at 1:00 p.m. I will help from as many people as possible with sorting the items into rows, grouped by numbers. Parents can then pick up the products starting at 2:40 p.m. Students that sold three or fewer items will need to come to the gym at 2:15 p.m. to pick up their products. Teachers, you will receive a list of who those students are.
  • RESOURCE OFFICER: Lesley Fox, our new resource officer, will be visiting our building this week to get to know the students and staff. She will be starting her regular work routine soon.
  • CHARACTER COUNTS: Josh and Lisa have been discussing our Character Counts program and have come up with a couple new things to help keep the Pillars of Character in the forefront. Each month, we will focus on a particular Pillar. The Pillar for November is citizenship. Special announcements will be posted on the school TVs that define the Pillar and give examples of it. Drawing contests will be held too. Look for more information from Lisa and Josh in the near future.
  • ARCHERY: I am meeting with a couple of community members this week to talk about starting an archery club at Wayne Center. This will be a great opportunity for our students to engage in another extra-curriculuar activity.
  • PE SCHEDULE ON FRIDAY: I would like to run PE on a two-hour delay schedule this Friday so that I can practice with the Veteran's Day program students on the risers in the gym. The practice will take a while since we will have to work on placement/staging, using the microphones, etc. We will have a lot of work to do. I do need Music Makers to attend for at least the first part so they can practice on the risers too, but then I will send them back to class ASAP. Looking ahead to Monday . . . I will need to practice with the students in the gym first thing in the morning too. We will have alternate specials on Monday, Nov. 11. I appreciate your flexibility!
  • CARD MAKING: Some of the Veteran's Day program students will be making cards during their lunch/recess time on Wednesday. As soon as they get their lunch, they can come directly to the MP room.
  • PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES: Thank you for all your efforts in preparing for the parent/teacher conferences this past week! I heard some great compliments from parents. They were impressed with how organized the conferences were, the data you shared with them, and the helpful suggestions and activities you gave them to do with their child. Overall, we had great attendance for our conferences. Thanks again for your hard work and effort!!!
