History and background

Cocaine is a powerfully addictive drug. Made from the cocoa plant native in South America. Cocaine raises heart rate and blood pressure. It is occasionally consumed by smoking or through the nose. Natives were able to fight off fatigue by biting cocoa leaves. Around the 1880's cocaine was recommend for varieties of illness like morphine and heroin addictions. Cocaine was inside coca cola mixed with caffeine in 1886 but was removed in 1906, twenty years later.


Anxiety, being paranoid, long periods of sleep, addiction, depression, lack of eating (starvation) and, insanity. Brain function decreases because of the amount of glucose that is being lost each time cocaine is


Since 2014 1.5 million people over 12 have consumed cocaine. That is 0.6 percent of the U.S population.
