FREE Opportunity for Coding for Girls at Binghamton University
Girls Who Code is currently recruiting high school female participants for our upcoming Fall 2020 program at Binghamton University. This Fall, we will be offering two virtual classes: Beginner Python and App Building. The deadline for registrations from your region is August 15.
We would like to extend the opportunity of joining our highly acclaimed program to your students. We'd appreciate if you could help us spread the word by forwarding the email template below to parents and students, with the attached documents- a flyer and take home letter.
Hello! We at Girls Who Code at Binghamton University strive to introduce high school girls to a rising field- computer science. Students will learn coding skills, meet real women from the tech industry, bond with other girls interested in STEM, and develop skills that they will use in their everyday lives. Applications for our Fall 2020 session are now open! We are offering two classes online for free: Beginner Python and App Building. Both classes will begin September 12 and run every Saturday for 10 weeks until November 14. Applications from your region are due August 15! Please see our flyers attached for more information.

A Message from Wayne Behavioral Health Network (WBHN): Offering Telehealth!
In anticipation of the reopening of schools, whatever that may look like, we want to make you aware of the services available at Wayne Behavioral Health Network (WBHN) and the Wayne County Regional Open Access Center (OAC). We are now offering in-person, telephone or video conferencing appointments for all of our services, including intakes and psychiatric services. Our school-based satellite therapists are currently operating out of our Lyons based clinic and are accepting new referrals from both guardians and school staff.
We understand that this can be a really challenging time for students and families, and want to encourage reaching out for social emotional support. If you are interested in scheduling an intake appointment or have questions regarding our services, contact WBHN at 315-946-5722.
WBHN and the OAC are following CDC guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety for those who visit our main clinic located at 1519 Nye Rd., Lyons.
Volunteer Hours
Summer is a great time to get some volunteer hours in. Service time is a requirement for National Honor Society members and potential members. Service hours are also necessary for students who want to secure scholarships through Dollars for Scholars when they graduate. These hours can begin in your freshman year!
If you are looking for ideas, check out our volunteer page here.
