One member of each group must deliver the poster to the PAC between 4:30 - 5:30 PM on Thursday, November 13th. Students should look for Mrs. Carol Reese (see photo) in the hallway outside the auditorium, and she will instruct them where to place the poster.

Travel to the Birthplace of Greek Mythology
Ms. Hanna and Mrs. Reese (GT Specialists at Hill Country and West Ridge) are excited to announce that they are sponsoring a joint Hill Country-West Ridge summer travel opportunity to Athens, The Aegean, and Istanbul. Students can immerse themselves in the inspiration for Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series.
Highlights of the the trip include:
- 4 night cruise of the Aegean with excursions to Mykonos (site of the mythological battle between Zeus and the Titans), Ephesus (site of the Temple of Artemis), Rhodes (named for a daughter of Poseidon), and Crete (birthplace of Zeus)
- Athens: Acropolis, Parthenon & The Agora
- Delphi: The Temple of Apollo
- Istanbul: Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, & The Grand Bazaar
More information can be found here, including how to sign up. Please contact Ms. Hanna for a registration bulletin.

Q: What about Turkey?
While there is currently trouble on the border between Syria and Turkey, Istanbul is safe for travel by Westerners. Mrs. Reese's son works in Washington D.C. in security, and he likened it to trouble on the Mexican border making travelers wary of Chicago.
That said, international situations are constantly evolving. If the situation were to change, we, along with ACIS, would respond accordingly, eliminating that part of the trip if necessary.
However, individuals who wish to travel to Greece, but not Istanbul can opt to fly home on June 28th while the rest of the group continues on to Istanbul. There would be a corresponding reduction in price if that option is selected.
Q: Who can participate in this trip? Can I accompany my child? Can my child's cousin from another district participate? What about younger siblings?
The short answer is yes. Parents, and even entire families are welcome to accompany us on this trip. Yes, a friend or family member of your child's who does not attend Eanes ISD schools may participate in this trip. We recommend that you do not bring children younger than five, and that you evaluate your younger children's stamina and ability to keep up with the group.
Many students have asked if students who are not in the GT program can participate. The answer is yes.
Q: Is the November 1st deadline a hard deadline?
No, the deadline has been extended to December 1st with the same price guarantee.
Q: What travel experiences do the Group Leaders have?
Both Mrs. Reese and Ms. Hanna have lived abroad and traveled extensively throughout the globe. Both have traveled internationally with student groups.
