Introducing Our Amazing Aides...
Language Workshop
Reading Workshop
Please remember to have your child read for at least 15 minutes every night.
Writing Workshop
Note: Handwriting is important! By second grade, students should have correct letter formation and word spacing. They also should be able to write on the lines. If you feel like your child could use some extra handwriting practice at home, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.
Math Workshop
Fun Math Game: Can you child count forward by 1s? 2s? 5s? 10s? What if you start with a number other than O? For example, count on by 2s from 88. Extra bonus: count backwards! These are fun number games to play on the way to school, walking home, or waiting in line at the grocery store. Number fluency is very important. You can help build your child's skills just by counting!
Math Facts: By the end of second grade, your child should know all addition and subtractions facts through 12.
iPad Policy Correction
Major Incidents & Infinite Campus Emails
If a student has a major incident or altercation in school (swearing, physical aggression, stealing, destruction of property, intimidation, etc), the teacher will contact families first. Similarly to previous years, the incident will be documented in Infinite Campus. However, new this year, families will receive an email approximately 24 hours afterwards summarizing the incident.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please reach out to Cynthia Gannon or Brian Bennowitz.

Planetarium - Thursday, January 16, 2020
This year marks a new era for the planetarium. With over 40 years of continuing education for the School District of Waukesha, we are invited to experience the night sky and an amazing show at the planetarium. The classic 2nd grade level program “Our Place in Space,” is to be presented in high-definition full-dome video.
Program Description: Scarlet Macaw searches all over the world to learn something new and exciting about the Earth and Space. Themes include the Sun as a star, what makes the Sun move, the planet Earth, gravity, and constellations. She uses this information to fill in a crossword puzzle.
