Cub Families,

What a great week at CCES! We had our first Run Club practice, and it was a huge hit! We had 136 students running, and every student ran at least a mile and some ran 3 or more. We have adjusted the way we dismiss for next week. Next week the students that are car riders will walk and come out under the covered area by the cafeteria just like regular dismissal. We will have teachers that will assist getting students into their cars. This should help get students out in a more efficient way.

We know that it is the season for all things like Strep, flu and the cold. If your student has to miss school and goes to the doctor, please send in a doctor's note. To help mitigate some of this, our fabulous custodians were up here on the weekend to deep clean the classrooms.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Mrs. Gillette

Every month we will be announcing one Cub of the Month from each grade level. Every two months we will focus on the current Great 8 Skill. Teachers will be choosing a student from their grade level who exemplifies that skill. September and October the focus will be on Optimistic Thinking; November and December the focus will be on Self-Management; January and February the focus will be on Goal Directed Behaviors; and March and April the focus will be on Relationship Skills. In May we will celebrate all of our monthly winners!!

Here are the winners of Cub of the Month for September:

Kinder - Grace S.

1st Grade - Olive G.

2nd Grade - Michelle M.

3rd Grade - Hudson A.

4th Grade - Emma F.

We will also be starting a weekly Kindness Challenge. Each week a new challenge will be announced here, on KCub News, and on the bulletin board outside Mrs. Juarez’s office. We challenge everyone to be kind all the time, but will focus on the challenge that week.
