Welcome back! We hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of sleep yesterday!
Thanks to everyone who came out to Wells Family Learning Night! We loved seeing all the students working with their families. It was a fun night!

We are starting a new unit in Science. Please see the message below about supplies that we need donated for our project.

Tuesday, November 8th - Spirit Night at Jet's Pizza, 2411 Coit Rd (Next to Haggard Library)
Thursday, November 10th - Veteran's Day Assembly @ 8:15am and 6:30pm
Thursday, November 10th - Patriotic Dress Up Day! Wear Red, White and blue to show respect for the Veterans.
Veteran's Day Program
We will be honoring United States Veterans and active duty military personnel on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 8:15 a.m. in our gym. ***
Wells’ families are encouraged to invite Veterans and active duty military personnel to the assembly. They will be considered our guests and will be recognized at the assembly.
The Wells third graders will be performing a thirty minute patriotic program in honor of our guests. Students are encouraged to practice at home and can use the following link:

Our guests will need to arrive between 7:45 and 8:05 a.m. A reception will be available beginning at 8:45 a.m. for our honorees and their student host.
Additionally, we are also filling our display cases by the library in tribute to United States Veterans. Please submit a high resolution picture as an attachment to Ms. Hirunrusme at janet.hirunrusme@pisd.edu. The 3rd graders will be making frames to go with your pictures to be displayed in the locked cases. They must be in by Wednesday, November 2, 2016, so we can put up the display cases. Please include the veterans’ information as well. (Name, Military branch served, years of service, and relation to student)
Finally, if you are bringing a guest to our morning or evening performance on November 10th, please tell your guest to have their driver’s license with them and sign in at the front office for the morning performance.

Science Unit
We are starting our next Unit in science next week. The students will be studying the water cycle and creating water filters. This is a big project that we will need many supplies for. If you have any of these items at home or will be willing to donate something from the list below, it would be greatly appreciated!
We need:
2-liter clear plastic bottles with caps
1-liter clear plastic bottles with caps
Tea leaves
Potting soil
Sand
Gravel (small, aquarium sized)
