Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) currently utilizes a state system Texas Unified Nutrition Program System (TX-UNPS) to manage USDA Foods for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). TDA is transitioning many Food Distribution functions from TX-UNPS to USDA's Web Based Supply Chain Management (WBSCM) system. TX-UNPS works in conjunction with WBSCM to manage USDA food orders in Texas which causes duplicative effort for tracking and management by TDA staff and Recipient Agencies (RA). WBSCM allows functionality to enter and track acquisitions and distributions for USDA Foods in an integrated, internet-based application.

• December 2022: Receive WBSCM account login and set-up training from TDA
• January 2023: Start using WBSCM for SY 23-24 Requests

Beginning in October, Region 6 ESC will provide training for pilot Recipient Agencies to launch WBSCM in January 2023.

All districts and charter schools in the Region 5 area who participate in the Food Distribution Program will be a pilot agency with the new upcoming technology change!

A CE staff member must be the Recipient Agency contact for submitting surveys and processing
