Term 2 Week 8
16 June 2023
Our amazing staff
We are really fortunate at Marlborough Primary to have an incredibly talented staff, who are very dedicated to your tamariki. Our teachers really do want the absolute best for our akonga. Some of you will know that we recently advertised a position at school, to enable us to open another New Entrant classroom at the beginning of Term 3. It was really disappointing to note that we had a total of 4 applications for the position, with no suitable candidates found. As a result we have found ourselves having to swivel and swap a few staff. Whilst this is definitely not an ideal situation, we would far rather know that we are placing quality staff in front of classes.
We also have to say farewell to Mrs Kim, from Room 5, at the end of the term. Mrs Kim has been offered and accepted a position at Takapuna Normal Intermediate School. We wish her all the very best for her new position.
So, for Term 3 the staff list looks like this.
Room 1 Matua Kevin
Room 2 Matua Owen
Room 3 Mrs Hildelsey
Room 4 Mrs M
Room 5 Ms Shepherd
Room 6 Ms Bohling
Room 7 Mrs Saga
Room 8 Mrs Jones/Mrs Nichol
Room 9 Matua Xilu
Room 10 Mr Kay
Room 11 Mrs Hogarth
Room 12 Mrs Pratt
Room 13 Mrs Shoebridge
Room 14 Mrs Dickson
Room 15 Mrs V
Room 16 Whaea Kat
Room 17 Ms Kilduff
Room 18 Mrs Jones
Room 19 Ms Sumalbag
Room 20 Matua Brad

We need your help!
We want to ensure that our students are more sustainability aware, and our first action in this is to reduce the amount of small pieces of plastic that we have lying around the school. The two biggest culprits at the moment are the plastic straw wrappers from the like of Calciyum Milk and the little bottles of Yakkult. Both of these items are wonderful for our students to have, we just would appreciate if you could help us by taking the plastic wrapper off when you put the straws into their lunch boxes and maybe make a point of expecting the bottles to be in their lunch boxes when they get home.
