MHS Updates
Reminder of the AFUHSD Attendance Policy
I want to remind parents of the AFUHSD attendance policy or the 90% rule. Students cannot accrue more than ten absences (per course) in one semester or jeopardize losing credit in that course. The administrative staff begin meeting with students when they accumulate four/five absences to discuss the importance of attendance. Students who continue to miss are given a credit appeal that must be turned in for the opportunity to earn credit.
Verified and Unverified absences count towards the ten absences. Medical (must be documented) and school business do not count towards the ten absences.
A Few Reminders about Power Hour
Below is the link that your child uses to check their required PH sessions. Students must attend all four days. If you know your child has a D or F, go into the link with them and review where they should be going for the week.
You may also visit the Power Hour page on our website.
