Xello - Parent Portal

With Xello's new Family Portal. Parents and Guardians can collaborate with educators to support students on their journey to future-readiness.

When exploring future options, there are many different things students need to consider and plan for. While it is important for students to take ownership in planning for their future, the caring adults in their life play an essential supporting role.

Family engagement in a child's education has been proven to have positive academic outcomes. Having both educators and guardians on the same page when it comes to a student's future goals helps keep students engaged and encourages them to continue pursing their journey to college and career readiness.

With the addition of Xello's Family Portal parents/guardians are being invited to gain full visibility into their students' future goals and plans so they can better support their learning and development. Whether a family has one child, 3 children, or even more, parents and guardians can access all of their students' work in one location.

Classroom Visits

12th graders

In September, I met with the 12th government classes. In class I talked to students about many topics. Topics we explored were: important upcoming senior events, FAFSA, College rep visits, transcript requests and using Xello their Senior year.

In October, we met with students again to give them time to get started on their plan for after graduation.

Students who planned to go to college/trade school had the opportunity to start applications for college, national scholarships searches, and start completing their brag sheet for their letter of recommendations.

Students planning to go into the military had the opportunity to explore the different branches, take practice tests for the ASVAB, and meet with different military reps available at that time.

Students who were planning to go straight into the workforce or take a gap year had the chance to meet with the Idaho Department of Labor who worked with them on their resumes, talked to them as a group of the do's and don'ts, how to prepare for entering the workforce, how they can help, and programs out there that may be able to assist them.
