Message from the Principal:
I hope conferences went well and your student(s) are working hard to complete daily assignments and participate in Synchronous classes. Ramsey MS is a Title 1 school. We benefit from additional funding to support your student's academics and learning. This week's update has a link to the first of three short videos that explain: Title 1; the specifics at Ramsey; and the significance of parent involvement and engagement for the success of your student(s). I hope you take time to watch the video. We are providing a link to a form for any questions or comments. I hope you have a great week - Ms. Vibar
Tuesday, November 3 is Election Day:
This summer, the Board of Education adjusted the SPPS schedule
to make Election Day a distance learning day. This means all students will learn from home on Election Day, including students in Stage 1 hybrid learning. Distance Learning lessons should be prepared as usual by teachers. This is not a no-contact day with students. The right to vote is one we strongly support as a District, and observing these simple guidelines makes the process more manageable for everyone.
Ramsey teachers may or may not be present in synchronous classes on Tuesday to exercise their right to vote. Please make sure your student is completing asynchronous lessons in Schoology on Election day.
Student of the Month
Congratulations!
The learner profile for November is COMMUNICATOR.
6th Grade- Abdullahi Salah
Abdullahi has been working incredibly hard to balance many different pieces of DL. He is a student council rep, getting strong grades, helping lead Anime Club and facilitating lots of awesome friendships with new students. He is a great leader, student, friend and Ramsey ambassador.

Khalil is balancing all of his classes within distance learning very well. He communicates with teachers. Attends google meets and is patient with others. Khalil cares about his grades and his focused on keeping them great so his mom does not have to worry.

Girum does a great job consistently coming to classes as well as the afternoon 8th grade group activities. He is doing a great job balancing his school work while also being a great classmate.

Coats for Kids:
The Salvation Army has begun its coat drive. The Salvation Army’s centers are a place for families in crisis to get help, including coats for their children. Visit any of our Twin Cities Worship & Service Centers to learn about meeting your child’s need for a coat. Supplies may be limited, so we recommend contacting the nearest location before stopping by to find out if supplies are available in the sizes you need.
Families can register with their local Salvation Army:

Parents and guardians will:
- Complete all, annually-required school and district forms including the Technology Use Agreement (for student iPad use), field trip and media permission forms.
- Add or change primary and/or alternative addresses to ensure accurate school-bus transportation to and from home and/or childcare addresses. Click the button below to complete the iUpdate.
Every SPPS family should complete an application for Education Benefits/Free or Reduced Price Meals. Not only does this help us identify families in need of assistance, it also allows the District to receive federal dollars for classroom programming.
A new form must be completed each school year. Additionally, families who have completed an application and have experienced a change in household income or size are encouraged to complete a new application. Click the button below to complete the application.
