About Me

Hello LES friends! I was born and grew up in Miami, Florida before moving to Harrisonburg, Virginia during my elementary school years. I went from the beautiful clear water Miami beaches to the mountains of the Shenandoah Valley. After graduating high school, I was ready for another big change, so I headed down to Cleveland, Tennessee, where I graduated from Lee University with a B.A in Psychology in 2013 and a M.A in School Counseling in 2015. Some of my hobbies include spending time with my new puppy, Jesse, going to concerts, and crossing new places off of my travel bucket list.

I'm so excited to be starting my second year as the 3rd-5th grade school counselor at such a great school! I love working with students and seeing them reach their full potential in their academic, socio-emotional, and career development. Some of the services I provide include large group counseling, small group counseling, individual counseling, parent/teacher consultations, and 504/SAT coordination.

Here's to a great 2016/2017 school year!

Cori Lukasik

Hi Lascassas students and parents! I join our faculty from Charleston, SC, and I am very excited to have recently moved to Nashville. This will be my seventh year as a school counselor and my tenth year in education. My position is split between Lascassas and Siegel Middle School. I will be at LES on Mondays, Wednesdays, and every other Friday, working with K-2nd grades.

When not at school, I enjoy hiking, camping, exercising and spending time with my Mini Australian Shepherd puppy Isla. I look forward to an excellent school year and to working in this wonderful community!

Counseling Services

Large Group Counseling

Once a month, all classes have classroom guidance. Guidance lessons cover various topics that promote healthy academic and personal/social skills that will help students become successful both in and out of school. Topics covered throughout the year include: goal-setting, anti-bullying, test-taking skills, kindness, positive mindsets, friendship skills, etc.

Small Group Counseling

Throughout the year, we run various small groups with 4-8 students on various topics. These groups meet once a week during their lunch time. Small group topics include: anger management, stress management, grief, social skills development, making/keeping friends, divorce, etc. Groups are form by student, teacher, or parent referral. If you'd like your student to be in a group, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Individual Counseling

Students may also see the school counselors for individual counseling as needed. School counselors provide brief, solution-focused counseling. Our role in individual counseling is to provide academic and personal/social support for students at school. While we cannot provide long-term intense counseling, we are happy to provide families with community resources to meet their needs. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you'd like to discuss your student and/or would like some outside resources. We've also included an online referral form below for parents (only counselors will see completed forms).

Character Education

We are very excited about CORE, our new character education program that we'll be implementing this year. Each month we will focus on a core value word and definition. Our hope is that CORE will allow students, faculty, and families to SAY IT, KNOW IT, SEE IT, and BE IT each month.

The core value for the month of August is OBEDIENCE: trusting those who lead you by doing what you're asked to do.
