August 19-23 2019 --- Home of the Wildcats
Dear Walker Families,
This has been the best back to school week. Our Wildcats have amazed us with their ability to transition back into the school routines. Thank you for your patience as we work through the drop-off and pick up procedures. With time, our lines will improve. One favor we ask is that you remain in your car to drop off and pick up. Pre-K families have to walk into the building to drop off and pick up. Therefore, we ask all other families to use the car line for drop off and dismissal.
Next week we will be having school-wide color dress-up days. Wear red on Monday, blue on Tuesday, yellow on Wednesday, green on Thursday, and orange on Friday. We can't wait to see everyone dressed in the color of the day.
We hope you have been hearing all about your child's school experiences when they come home each day. Is your child coming home with homework? If your child says they do not have homework, ask them what they are supposed to read. We know that reading practice comes reading proficiency, therefore, we ask that all students read at home every night. Please ask your child what they are reading and remind them that they are to be reading every night. We would love for you to sit down and listen to your child read and even share the reading with your child as you read aloud to them.
Thank you for partnering with us for your child's education. We are here for your child each and every day. If there is a question, concern or even an idea to share, please reach out to your child's teacher or to either one of us. We look forward to a great 2019-20 school year.
