Woods Weekly
Week of April 18th-22nd
Classroom Happenings
Dear Parents/Guardians,
It was great seeing so many of you at the Central Music Concert. Mr. Meyer and our students did such an amazing job!
Multiplication Timed Test
I will not be at school today (Friday, April 15th) or Monday (April 18th). With students progressing through the tests at their own pace, there are many students who are testing on different facts, which would be difficult for a substitute teacher to manage. For this reason, students will not be taking a test on Monday, April 18th. We will resume on Wednesday, April 20th.
Variety Show
The Variety Show will be held tonight (Friday, April 15th) at 6:30 p.m. at the Ben Franklin Middle School auditorium. Central staff members will be serving pizza at 6:00 p.m. Candy will also be for sale prior to the show and during intermission. Cash only, please! I hope you are all able to attend. It is surely going to be a wonderful time!
ISTEP
The second portion of the ISTEP test will be held on April 26th, 27th, 28th, and *29th for 4th graders. (* The 29th has recently been added, so students won't be overloaded with testing on the 28th.)
This portion of the ISTEP test will be online and the answers will be multiple choice. Students practiced this test format on Monday, April 11th. Please feel free to visit the link below on your own or with your child. It is the Indiana Department of Education's "Experience." The purpose of the Experience is for students, educators, parents, and community members to see how test items similar to those on the ISTEP+ Part 2 assessment are presented in the online system.

Student Council
Student Council is sponsoring "Mayhem Days" in May. They are fun, dress up days for our Central students and staff. We wanted to give you a heads up about them now, so you and your child can begin planning the fun outfits he or she will wear.
Friday, May 6 - Crazy Hair Day
Thursday, May 12 - Neon Day (wear neon colored clothing)
Friday, May 20 - Famous Person Day (dress up like someone famous from the past or present!!)
Friday, May 27 - Favorite Sports Team Day (wear a shirt or jersey from your favorite professional or college sports team)
Reminders
The Box Top Challenge
Our school-wide competition for collecting Box Tops for Education is underway, and our class is doing a wonderful job! Thank you to all who have already turned in Box Tops! If you are in need of additional Box Tops forms, please let me know.
Box Tops are an easy way for our school to earn money for the things that it needs. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents. To participate, here is what you need to do:
1. Buy your favorite Box Tops products
2. Cut out the Box Top from each package.
3. Tape or glue them onto the form that was sent home on Thursday, March 31st.
4. Send the completed form back to school by April 29th.
The class who collects the most Box Tops will get to choose a staff member to receive a pie in the face!
Student Council
The Backpack Project that had been held earlier in the year was such a success that Student Council is holding an encore supply drive to replenish our school food pantry before summer. The drive is currently underway and goes through Friday, April 29th.
