Winter Break! No School - Friday, December 23rd - Returning Tuesday, January 3rd
We want to wish all members of our school community a wonderful, relaxing, and joyful winter break and start to the New Year!
School will be closed starting Friday, December 23rd and will reopen on Tuesday, January 3rd.
REMINDER - Winter Solstice Celebration - Clementine Donations Needed & Welcome!
On Wednesday, December 21st, RK Finn Ryan Road will celebrate the Winter Solstice with a parade around the school, a sing along, and enjoy a delicious clementine (and alternative treats for those with citrus allergies).
We are still in need of lots of clementines! If you are able and interested please drop off the clementines at the main office or send them in with your child to give to their classroom teacher. Thank you!
Grade 5 Math Activities - Volume Review
Grade 5 students participated in a volume review activity last wek. Students created cubic feet, yards, and meters to get a better idea of the size of these units. This interactive and experiential way of learning math is a focus on our math curriculum and intended to create long-lasting, authentic conceptual math understanding!
Snow Play Reminders
- Students may go out for recess. Please be sure to have winter clothing, as students are able to play in the snow with appropriate clothing. (Coat/Jacket, snow pants, boots, hats, and gloves/mittens) We do go outside if the temperature feels like 15 degrees or higher.
- If it is below 15 degrees in the morning, we will have morning recess (7:45-7:55am) indoors.
Superintendent Preliminary Search Committee
The Northampton School Committee invites all members of our school community to participate in the Preliminary Superintendent Search Committee. Please read the attached documents for more information
Florence Bank - Customers' Choice Community Grants - Vote for RK Finn Ryan Road!
Voting for our Customers' Choice Community Grants program ends December 31, so be sure to get the word out today. Because when our customers vote, local non-profits like yours can win.
This year, we've increased our grant pool from $100,000 to $125,000. Any qualifying non-profit organization* that receives 50 or more votes will receive a proportional share of the $125,000 pool, so every vote counts.
Jacob and Addison helped us make birthday announcements this week and selected the song we played to celebrate!

YMCA: The YMCA. Hampshire YMCA runs an afterschool program at the school until 6pm. Space is limited. Contact the Hampshire YMCA directly for more information.

FREE PVTA, BRTA, FRTA, and All Regional Transit Authority Fares (November 25 - December 31, 2022)
Please Note PVTA, BRTA, FRTA and all regional transit authorities fares for all fixed route buses and paratransit van service are pre-paid by the MA Legislature, November 25, 2022 – December 31, 2022. No fares or passes are needed to ride during this time thanks to a grant that was awarded to all fifteen of the Commonwealth’s Regional Transit Authorities.
