Kelly Newsletter
October 2019
Dear Kelly Families,
We have had an amazing start to the school year and hopefully by now you are all settled into your new school routine. Staff and students have been busy getting to know each other, practicing routines and building their classroom communities. The first month of school is a busy and exciting time for everyone.
Fall is definitely in the air and our teachers are looking forward to visiting with all of you during conferences. Our goal setting conferences will be held October 1st and 3rd from 4:00-7:00pm and also October 4th from 12:00-4:00pm. Please check with your child’s teacher if you are unsure of your scheduled time.
Your child’s safety is important to all of us! We ask for your help in keeping students safe by following drop off and pick up routines. Remind your child to use the crosswalks before and after school. A thank you to “America’s Favorite Crossing Guard”, Bob Rost, for his continued commitment to the safety of our students.
This year the staff and students at Kelly School are taking a ride on the Energy Bus. During our first Energy Rally we learned about the six rules that help you on the road to success. During class meetings students will learn more about each rule and have opportunities to practice these rules. We hope you can join us for our first Monthly Fuel Up Event on Friday,
October 4th at 10:45am. We need all of you as passengers on the Energy Bus too!
Wishing you all a happy fall!

MONTHLY FUEL UP EVENTS
This year we will be taking a ride on the Energy Bus and we invite all of you to ride along with us. Our theme is based on a book written by Jon Gordon titled The Energy Bus for Kids. It is a story about staying positive and overcoming challenges. Each month we will learn about one of the rules that can help us on the ride of our lives.
Beginning in October you are invited to attend a Monthly Fuel Up Event. During these events you’ll learn alongside your children as you have discussions and participate in activities. It is our hope that these events help to build the home/school connection and that you are able to use the Energy Bus rules at home.
If you have more than one child at Kelly School, you may bring your children together into one classroom each month. Please alternate so each child is still able to attend their own classes Monthly Fuel Up Events. It will be helpful to have a plan in place before the event begins so that all events can begin on time.
These are the dates and times of this year's Monthly Fuel Up Events. We hope you can join us as we fill our tanks with knowledge and positivity.
