2019-20 School Year
The recent Executive Order issued by Governor Holcomb has brought many mixed emotions. While we appreciate the decisive action made to protect our kids and our community, our hearts are broken that we will not be able to end the 2019-20 school year in the building with our students. I am certain there are many questions about logistics and what the next few months will bring. Please know that we are working quickly at both the district and building level to get you the information you need in order to plan next steps.
I can share with you that teachers have been working harder than ever to bring meaningful learning opportunities to our students. We have loved being able to connect with students through Zoom, video and audio calls, Canvas, Seesaw and emails. Remaining connected during this time of distance is so important. As we return to e-learning on April 14, we will continue to look for ways to improve e-learning even more in order to best meet the individual needs of our learners. We recognize and appreciate that e-learning is uncharted territory for families as well as educators. This makes home-school communication even more vital during this time of distance learning. Please share with your child's teacher any noticings, concerns, celebrations or questions that you have as we continue to improve this experience for everyone. We welcome feedback you want to share.
Words can't adequately express how heavily this time away from students weighs on our hearts. We are here to support kids unconditionally and want to also support families as much as possible during this uncertain time. Please continue to reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns. You can also reach out to other staff for support including:
Andrea Burke (principal) - aburke@hse.k12.in.us
Rebekah Landez (assistant principal) - rlandez@hse.k12.in.us
Bethany Magill (counselor) - rmagill@hse.k12.in.us
Be safe. We miss you, Patriots! ❤️
