Metropolitan Cathedral
What is it?
The Metropolitan Cathedral is one of the oldest and largest Roman Catholic cathedral. It was built in sections from 1573 to 1813 around the original church that was constructed soon after the Spanish conquest in Tenochtitlan. Baroque is the architectural style that was used to make this building, There are 16 chapels and each one is dedicated to a different saint or saints.
