Leon Trotsky
Biography
Leon Trotsky was born on November 7, 1879 in Ukraine. His full name was Lev Davidovich Bronstein. He was fond of Marxism, and like most Marxists, was atheist. He first married Aleksandra Sokolovskaya and had two daughters with her. However, he also had two sons with another woman, Natalya Sedova. Although he originally supported the Mensheviks, Trotsky later joined the Bolsheviks. Trotsky is well-known for playing an important role in the October Revolution. Leon Trotsky died on August 20, 1940 after he was hit in the head with an ice pick by Jacques Mornard.
