Dear RNE Family,
This short week has gone by very quickly! I have been in many classrooms this week. I continue to be amazed at the levels of learning that occur at RNE! Our teachers are simply awesome!!!!
I hope many of you will join us tonight for our International Night. I promise it is a night you don't want to miss.
Dear RNE Families -
We are looking forward to celebrating the cultural diversity represented at our school at our annual International Night event on Friday, February 23 from 6 - 8 p.m. in the RNE Cafeteria. This fun, family event is a great opportunity to learn about foreign countries, taste new foods, and experience the arts. The event kicks-off with the Parade of Nations shortly after 6:00. We hope to see you at this exciting event!
We are in search of a Few Good Parents! The PTA nominating committee is currently accepting nominations for next year’s executive board. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone you know for the 2018-2019 PTA board, please email Amy Jeffs at firstname.lastname@example.org - we know there are willing, able and dedicated volunteers in the RNE community!
The current positions open are:
VP of Communication
Roswell North Elementary School will be electing representatives to serve on the School Governance Council. We will be electing one parent/guardian position and one teacher position for our spring election. Our School Governance Council has a leadership role in the governance of the school. The Council works with the principal in setting the long-term vision and strategy for the school. They are responsible for approving the school’s strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community.
Elections for the parent/guardian and teacher positions on the School Governance Council will be held March 19th-March 23rd. Candidates interested in running for an elected position on the Council must complete a candidate declaration form and submit by February 23rd.
Candidate forms may be submitted electronically or by mail (get a copy of the form from the school’s front office and follow mailing instructions on the back of the form).
Rising 6th Grade Parent Night
Please join us for our Rising 6th Grade Parent Night at Crabapple Middle School where you will learn about what Crabapple has to offer your soon to be middle schooler! This event will take place on Thursday, March 1st at 6:30 pm in Crabapple’s cafeteria.

Roswell Junior Hornet Cheer
Attention all Rising 6th , 7th, and 8th Graders,
Roswell Junior Hornet Cheer is having an information meeting for anyone interested in trying out for the 2018-2019 cheer season. The meeting is Tuesday, March 13 at 6:00 in the Mountain Park Elementary School cafeteria. Information about our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade sideline teams as well as our award winning competition team will be discussed and try out packets handed out. Try outs will be April 9-13 so mark your calendars. For questions, please contact Shannon Anderson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spring Book Fair! March 15-March 23
Please make plans to come to our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child's reading habits.

Artist Day Volunteers Needed!
Calling all patrons of the arts! Artist Day is quickly approaching and we need your help to be successful. Approximately 20 artists will be at the school on Thursday, March 29th to demonstrate their crafts for our children. This is always an exciting day and we cannot do it without our parent volunteers. Mark your calendar for March 29th and look for the SignupGenius next week.
Help us celebrate our teachers! Each day the children will help the PTA show our appreciation for our teachers! Our Theme this year is:
“Having Teachers Like You is a Fairytale Come True!”
Monday March 5th - Snow White - This one is a good apple! (Bring an apple or apple product gift for your teacher)
Tuesday March 6th - Goldilocks and the 3 Bears - These Bear Hugs are just right to say thank you for being so awesome! (Give your teacher a hug and wear your “RNE Bear” spirit wear)
Wednesday March 7th - Once Upon A Time - Thank you for being even better than a Fairytale! (Wear your teacher’s favorite color and bring in a gently used book or game to donate to the classroom)
Thursday March 8th - Aladdin - Teachers should be treasured forever! (Bring in a “treasure” from your teacher’s favorites list)
*PTA will also be providing some treats to the teachers and staff throughout the whole week!
