Dear Parents / Carers,
We have had a very busy week this week with rehearsals in full swing for both the Key Stage 1 and EYFS Nativities. It is lovely to hear the Christmas songs around school and the children are getting very excited
Year 1 enjoyed two very exciting mornings this week with a visitor who taught them all about the Battle of Towton. They learned lots and were able to hold weapons and dress up in replica clothes from the era. I heard some great questions from the children and know they enjoyed the experience. Well done Year 1!
The School Council held their cake sale yesterday to raise funds for the Disasters Emergency Committee and raised a wonderful amount of money (still to be counted). Well done to them!
It is non-uniform day on Monday 5th December and we are asking for donations of chocolate please for the Christmas fair chocolate tombola organised by Friends which is on Friday 9th December.
Finally, as you may be aware, Mrs Wolterman will be leaving us at Christmas to have her baby. We have appointed Mr Ashley Whiteley to cover her hours in Year 3 whilst she is on maternity leave so you may see him in school over the next two weeks and we look forward to welcoming him into Milligan class formally in January. We wish Mrs Wolterman all the very best and look forward to welcoming her new baby soon.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams
