We had a fabulous time at the Arboretum! It was unseasonably hot and humid but we pushed through. Thank you so much to the chaperones and parents that came. The kids loved having you there and it makes the trip run much smoother.
We had 2 football players from FMHS come and read to us. They did a great job and the kids loved asking them questions.
The Environmental Dept of Flower Mound came out and set up stations in the 2nd grade classrooms. We rotated through 4 stations and learned about recycling, storm water, leaves, trees and reusing items. The kids each brought home a tree. I planted some from them a few years ago and they are all growing like crazy! Good luck!
We have a very busy week ahead of us. Please note all of the Red Ribbon Week activities. It should be fun!
I rarely get sick and I am really struggling today with chills and a very sore throat. It's that time of year! Please help me out my remembering to send a water bottle with your child so they can stay hydrated. Also, be sure they get plenty of sleep. I will keep our classroom as clean and disinfected as possible. :)
Have a great week and pray for some cooler weather!

WHAT WE'VE BEEN LEARNING
LANGUAGE ARTS-We read I Need My Monster this week. We made lots of text to text connections. We also worked on sequencing the story. We will finish up some of the activities for this book this week. We also worked on proper nouns. They sorted common nouns from proper nouns.
