Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineers research, develop, build, and test mechanical and thermal devices including tools, engines, and machines. They also look at any problems and see how any mechanical or thermal devices can help. Some design or even redesign many devices. They test prototypes of devices they have designed. There could be changes to any design they have created. I would like to pursue this career because I would love to give my input and ideas into designing something or even redesigning something. Having to solve major problems in a design interest me.
An engineer's typical day
Most of the time an engineer will work in an office space designing and thinking of things he or she can design. Many engineers may be able to see the work site of which there design is being built at. As well as see any problems that may be need to be cleared up by the engineer himself or herself. Most of the time engineers will work together with other engineers so there will be one big team. Engineers work full time.
Starting Salary
The starting salary for being an engineer is $86,200. For a mechanical engineer the starting salary is $80,585.
Education required
Nearly all engineers have required a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Most programs include mathematics, physical science, as well as engineering and design courses. Most programs last up to 4 to 5 years. The most important qualities to have in this field is being creative, listening skills, math skills, mechanical skills, and problem solving skills.
