Announcements
We have had a great start to the school year. Thank you for all of your support and help!
Please remember to send your child to school with a water bottle and a snack.
Monday Folders will go home each Monday. Please be sure to sign and return the folders the next school day.
This Week:
This week we will be learning how to organize the books in our library.
We will also be discussing what our learning mindset is.
Sight Words
First graders need to know an assortment of sight words in order to help them read. By the end of the school year, our students should know the 1st 100 Fry sight words.
ELAR
This week we are focusing on how to be a good listener, how to take turns while having a conversation, and how to brainstorm ideas.
Read Aloud
We will read many books throughout the week. Here are some of the books the children will be listening to.

Phonics/ Grammar
This week we are learning about the letter N, O, D, and E.
We are also learning about Alliteration or words that begin with the same sounds.
Writing
We are learning about the proper way to form our letters. Be on the lookout for an Alphabet Formation page to come home in the Monday Folders.
Math
We will be identifying numbers and using number combinations to make 10 with 10 frames and number bonds.
Social Studies
We will be learning about the American and Texas flags.
Science
We will be talking about what a scientist daoes.
