Otsego High School
2nd Semester (Week 2)
From the Desk of Mr. O'Shea
Welcome Back!
Busy Friday Night
It will be a big night on campus and we would love to have the entire community’s support! We will be having a spaghetti dinner fundraiser and hosting a military and first responder appreciation night. Details below. Hope to see you there!
Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser
Who: Knights Have Your Back and Knight In Shining Armor are working together to raise
money for our programs.
What: On Friday, January 17th , we will be co-sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser (4 PM - 7 PM), with a silent auction to help support our goal to give back to our community.
Where: Otsego High School Commons
When: January 17th, 4 PM - 8 PM
Friday, Jan 17th, the main commons will be open to the public for the Spaghetti Dinner. You do not need to purchase a ticket for the basketball game in order to participate in the dinner. If you would like to purchase a spaghetti dinner, we will be selling from the cafeteria food lines. We are asking for a free-will donation, (a suggested $5 donation per dinner). Though, we will happily accept whatever you are willing to donate! Dinners will include spaghetti, a salad, breadsticks, a
drink, and a cookie. Dinners will be served from 4 PM until 7 PM. Silent Auction tables will be set up along the hallways. Find our volunteers at the check-in table, to get a bidding number. We will be pulling bid sheets at 7:30 PM and will begin the check-out process ASAP. You do not need to be present to win your items, but we will have a credit card scanner on the day of the event. After the event ends, we can only accept cash or check.
Contact Megan Pierce, mpierce@otsegoknights.org or Jessica Vollmar, jvollmar@otsegoknights.org with any questions.
Knights Have Your Back -
Knights Have Your Back was created to provide the Otsego children in need with non-perishable food to take home over the weekends. The food is placed discreetly in each child's backpack every Friday in order to ensure that no Knight ever goes hungry. This program is currently providing food to over 45 Otsego families each week.
Knights In Shining Armor –
We strive to make sure that no matter the circumstances of families in our district, they are supported to help provide basic needs for themselves. This includes, but is not limited to, purchasing clothing and hygiene needs after a house fire, providing gas cards and gift cards to help balance expenses of cancer treatments and health diagnosis.
Military and First Responders Appreciation Night
At this Friday’s home basketball game, Jan. 17th, all active & military veterans as well as first responders will receive free admission. Military and first responders will be recognized between the 1st and 2nd quarter of the Varsity game. Family and community members are invited to show our respect for these real-life heroes.
GO, KNIGHTS!

KNOW! How to Fight Teen Depression
The holiday season is filled with peace and joy for many, yet sadness and despair for others, creating the perfect storm for the onset or worsening of depression. As a parent or other caregiver, do you feel confident you would know if your child was experiencing depression? And if your child was, would you know what to do?
