This book is about a young fish who thinks it's okay to steal. He thinks that he will get away with taking the big fish's hat. The young fish says that he knows that it's not okay to steal, but he says "The hat is to small for him anyway, it fits me just right." MORE INFORMATION...

The Author and illustrator of the book is Jon Klassen. He won the Caldecott in 2013. He wrote this book to inform or teach children about stealing. Some interesting facts about him are that he : is a Canadian writer, he was born in Winnipeg ,Canada in 1981, he grew up in Niagra Falls, he studied animation, and he worked on animation for "Kung Fu Panda." My book won the Caldecott because of the descriptive illustrations and because it paints a picture for the reader. Some differences about my book and JUMANJI is that JUMANJI is adventure, and doesn't give you a realistic vision, but on the other hand my book "THIS IS NOT MY HAT" is a life lesson. It teaches children about stealing and how you won't always get away with things. A similarity is that they both won the Caldecott and they both are really great books!!
