Parent Volunteer Lunch and Recess Support

This year we will be able to have parent volunteers help support lunch and recess if you have time in your day and love being around kids. During the first 2 weeks of school the teachers, Noon Aides, and I work to build solid and consistent expectations for our students in the cafeteria and outside on our playground. Starting the week of September 19 we hope to have these down so that when our parents volunteer our students know the expectations and we WOW our volunteers when you come to help us out. Thank you in advance for joining us if you can. You may use this signup genius to let us know you will join us for the day.

Invite to Holiday Parade

Livonia Parks and Recreation reached out to me to ask if we have any school groups that would be interested in participating in the City of Livonia's Merry & Bright holiday parade, taking place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4.

If your school, your PTA/PTSA, a sports team, a musical group, robotics, or any other program would like to walk in the parade, they can contact Billy Keppen at Parks and Rec by emailing him at wkeppen@livonia.gov. There is an application that he can send to the group.

LPS traditionally has marching bands, and pompon teams, and a few schools participate. Your school may already be on the roster, but Billy asked if we wanted to add more groups to the line-up.

Of course, I said I would ask!

Thank you. If you have any questions, just let me know!

Good Afternoon LPS Families,

We have great news for LPS students who are in need of a connected mobile device for the purpose of completing school work at home. Thanks to a grant from the FCC Emergency Connectivity Fund, we are able to provide Chromebooks for students who do not currently have the devices they need to access classroom content from home.

These Chromebooks are configured to run only with a Livonia Public Schools email address and will allow students to access digital textbooks, Google Classrooms and educational resources that are used by our schools and teachers.

Parent/guardians can complete the form below to request a district Chromebook for your student to use at home. Parents/guardians should carefully read the agreement in the form to be sure you understand and agree to all conditions of this program. These devices are to remain at home. Students do not need to bring the devices to school. If you have multiple students in the district requiring a device, please complete the form for each student.

Once we have established the number of families who are in need of a Chromebook, we will contact you with the location and dates for pick up.

Thank you!

To have grit means you have courage and show the strength of your character. A person with true grit has passion and perseverance. Goals are set and followed through. A person who works really hard to follow through on commitments has true grit.

We love volunteers and chaperones at Grant Elementary...one important step before signing up to serve in some way is to complete the necessary ichat security check for ALL volunteers and chaperones.
