A Note from Mrs. DeCamp
Happy New Year! I am so excited to get back to school and to see all of our student's again after our two week break! I hope you are all rested and relaxed, had fun with family and friends, and are ready to get back into your regular schedules! My family sure is!
Tell your children to get ready to share their vacation experiences with their teachers, friends, and me! I can't wait to hear all about it!

ROARS!
From The School Counselor's Desk
One of my favorite sayings is "You are someone's reason to smile!" One of the first things I told my students at the beginning of this 2019-2020 school year was that I love smiles. It brightens my day to see each and every child to have a smile on their face and for me to send a smile back to them. I truly believe that it brightens their day too when we are able to share this simple interaction.
As a parent, my two girls make me smile in many ways. The corresponding picture with this article sums up one amazing moment that I was able to share with my girls. We have made snowmen before but this year was an experience of teamwork to roll each and every ball. Through collaboration, we were able to decide that we wanted to use rocks, a carrot and some sticks to add the accents to our creation. Since we used food coloring recently, my oldest daughter asked if we could use it for the hair and mouth. The girls decided that it needed blue hair and a red mouth. The culminating picture just completed this whole experience for me as a parent because it shows that working with your children through teamwork and collaboration can help them to develop their sense of pride in what they create for themselves. In turn, this will only increase their confidence and self-esteem in oneself.

Board of Education Visits our School!
The first set of pictures is our Board of Education learning about our RTI (Response to Intervention) process in our school to meet the needs of our most struggling learners. They were able to hear from teacher leaders in our school about how we individualize our instruction to set goals for students and track their progress. The Board then went to classrooms and saw some of this instruction taking place in real time!
As always, the Board was able to also eat lunch with the kids in the cafeteria and even visit a PE class to do some Dancing!
