Message from Dr. Kaminski
Well it has happened again, the year has slipped away and May is upon all of us! I am VERY excited to announce the completion of ISTEP testing for all 3rd and 4th grade students. Thank you for all that you did at home to help your children come in well rested and ready to go. I know that our students did their personal best and I am proud of them for giving it their all each test session.
Parents of 3rd grade students can expect IREAD scores next Friday, May 5th in backpacks. Please call your teacher or me with any specific questions.
This bulletin is filled with important information, so please take a strong look at it and note specific important dates. Tonight there is a very powerful presentation you don't want to miss! Leon from The Kindness Diaries is going to be presenting at Fishers High School. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the family to hone their inner peaceful potential.
Have a wonderful weekend!

“Leon Logothetis is a global adventurer, motivational speaker & philanthropist. It wasn’t always that way. He used to be a broker in the city of London where he felt uninspired and chronically depressed. He gave it all up for a life on the road. This radical life change was inspired by the inspirational movie The Motorcycle Diaries.
The days of living and working behind his ‘slab of wood’ (or desk to the layman) are well and truly over. His new passion: Finding ways for your inner rebel (that voice that tells you, you are worth so much more than you think) to come out and play.
The inner rebel tells you that your life is yours. And anything you dream of is possible. Anything. And that the fuel for all this delicious potential is simple: Kindness and harnessing the power of human connection. And. Doing it all with a smile on your face and a spring in your step!”

MOVIE NIGHT!
Early Release Mondays Coming to HSE (2017-2018 School Year)
Dear HSE Parents and Guardians:
To provide teachers with consistent and more frequent opportunities for professional development, Hamilton Southeastern Schools will implement a 20-minute, early-release day each Monday for students, K-12, beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. In turn, teachers will remain 25 minutes later on Mondays for a total of 45 minutes of professional development time each week. The first observance will be Monday, August 14, 2017.
The new weekly meetings will replace the four professional development half days currently in the 2016-2017 calendar. A link to the 2017-2018 school calendar is below:
http://www.hse.k12.in.us/resources/pdf/ADM/calendars/districtCalendar1718.pdf
High-quality teaching remains the standard in Hamilton Southeastern Schools, and we look forward to advancing professional development. We realize that such a change – once a week – impacts your schedules, and you need as much advance notice as possible to plan for next year. Thank you for your cooperation, and your continuous support of our teachers and students.
Sincerely,
HSE Schools
